We got the January 2024 retail data from the ABS today, and they reported that Australian retail turnover rose 1.1 per cent (seasonally adjusted) in January 2024. This follows a fall of 2.1 per cent in December 2023 and a rise of 1.5 per cent in November 2023. Economists were divided on what to expect, with some looking for 1.5% monthly rebound, while others like Westpac were expected just a 0.3% rise.
