We have updated our surveys and modelling to the end of March 2026, effectively the last month before the incoming rate rises, fuel increases and inflation hit households. So in this show we examine the data, which will form a baseline for future analysis, as we expect financial stress to accelerate from its current high plateau. While the RBA says households on average are well placed to weather the storms, actually there are cohorts already under pressure.
