OK, I am done with taking the Saturday releases from the likes of Domain and Cotality as anything meaningful. To illustrate the point, the latest in the AFR cities Cotality data claiming the national auction clearance rate has risen to its highest level in a year after two interest rate cuts and the possibility of more helped to boost buyer confidence in the property market. Domain’s data also shows a preliminary clearance rate of 70.3% in Sydney and 74.7% in Melbourne, with a national rate of 70.2%, compared with 66.1% last week and 59.8%% last year.
